This is a really good point. I think people sometimes confuse giving an AI more autonomy with actually making it reliable. In production, the hard part is knowing where it should act on its own and where it needs to slow down, verify, or hand things over to a human. A smart agent without clear boundaries can honestly create more problems than it solves.

The part about escalation really stands out to me. It’s easy to focus on how well the AI handles a conversation, but what happens when it can’t solve the issue is just as important. If the handoff loses context or makes the customer start over, the whole experience still feels broken.

I think we’re definitely in another SaaS feature cycle, but AI agents could be different if they actually remove work instead of just adding another layer to the product. I’ve seen a lot of “AI agent” features that still require users to manage the same old workflow underneath. The real test for me is whether it saves the team time and gets things done with less effort, not just whether the product can say it has an agent.

This is a really good way to put it. I think the “AI agent: I can help you do it” part is the biggest difference. Getting an answer is useful, but actually getting the problem solved without being sent through five different steps is what makes the experience better. And honestly, knowing when to hand things over to a human is just as important as knowing what to say.

I’ve seen this happen too. Sometimes you can tell an AI is more focused on getting you to the next step than actually understanding what you’re asking. The response may be technically correct, but it still leaves you feeling like you weren’t really heard. I think the best AI sales agents should know when to sell and when to simply help. A good customer experience should come first, because pushing for a conversion at every opportunity can easily do more harm than good.

I agree with this. AI could definitely make it easier for smaller businesses to compete, but at the same time, getting noticed might become even harder. If an AI is deciding which few products to recommend from thousands of options, businesses will have to build real trust through good products, reviews, clear information, and a strong reputation. It’s almost like the competition is shifting from fighting for customers’ attention to fighting to be the option AI chooses.

I honestly think we’re heading in that direction. People don’t always want to spend 30 minutes jumping between different websites just to find the right product. If an AI agent can understand what I need, compare the options, check reviews and prices, and even help me make the purchase, that’s a much easier experience.

I honestly think transparency and human supervision are very important, because AI can get things wrong no matter how advanced it becomes. We shouldn’t just accept an AI decision because “the system said so.” People need to be able to question how that decision was made and step in when something doesn’t look right.

I agree with this, especially the point about AI being the “quiet hand” behind a better customer experience. When AI is doing its job well, customers shouldn’t even feel like they’re interacting with automation. They just notice that their question was answered quickly, their issue was understood, and they didn’t have to repeat themselves five times.

I agree with this. As a user, I care less about how well a page is optimized and more about whether it actually gives me what I’m looking for. Local search has especially made things easier because I can get the location, hours, reviews, and other details without opening ten different websites. But when SEO becomes more about ranking than actually helping the user, you can feel it immediately. Good SEO should make the search experience easier, not more complicated.

I think this is where SEO is really heading. It’s no longer just about stuffing the right keywords into a page and hoping Google ranks you. People want quick, useful answers, and AI is changing how those answers are found. So the businesses that focus on actually understanding their audience and solving their problems will probably have a much better chance of staying visible.

Absolutely. I think the biggest shift is that businesses will start paying less for access to software and more for the work that software actually gets done.

Exactly. A high automation rate means very little if the AI fails badly when it encounters an edge case. I’d judge an AI support tool by its resolution rate, accuracy, and how smoothly it recognizes its limits and hands the conversation to a human

Absolutely. The real cost of a SaaS tool is what it costs in both money and time. If an alternative improves productivity, removes repetitive work, and makes the workflow simpler, it can deliver far more value even if the subscription itself isn’t the cheapest. Competition is useful when it pushes products to deliver better outcomes, not just lower prices.

Exactly. The subscription price can look cheaper on paper, but the hidden cost of manual work, data entry, and managing disconnected systems can quickly outweigh the savings. Native integrations and workflow efficiency should be part of the real cost calculation.
