‎I think people sometimes underestimate the human handoff part. Even a really good AI chatbot is going to run into situations where a customer just needs a person. How smoothly that happens matters a lot.

‎We tested a few tools and honestly found that accuracy matters more than the number of features. Having 50 integrations doesn’t mean much if the bot confidently gives customers the wrong answer.

I’ve noticed that speed isn’t always the main thing people care about. Sometimes you already have enough people to do the work. The problem is that things get missed. An agent that keeps the process moving consistently can solve that problem in a different way.

The AI as a teammate comparison makes a lot of sense. You don’t expect a teammate to be perfect, but you do expect them to understand the situation, make reasonable decisions, and tell you when they’re unsure. SaaS agents are starting to be judged the same way.

For me, the interesting opportunities are in the messy workflows businesses still run manually. If a company is copying information between five different tools every day, that feels like a much better AI SaaS opportunity than another writing tool.

The biggest thing I’d worry about with one agent is context getting messy. A support conversation, a sales conversation, and an onboarding flow all need different information. At some point, separating those responsibilities could make the system much more reliable.

The approval step is probably what would make me comfortable using something like this. I wouldn’t want an operations assistant making changes directly, especially when the agent is already talking to real customers. Having a review before anything goes live makes sense.

One thing I’d definitely watch is how the AI handles the conversations that don’t fit neatly into the knowledge base. That’s where I think you really see the difference between a nice demo and something you can actually trust with real customers.

Press 1 for Sales 520 AI Coins

‎My takeaway from most founder stories is that the first 100 users are rarely acquired in a predictable way. It’s usually messy. A few from outreach, some from content, someone shares it, then another person refers a friend. I actually think that’s pretty normal for early stage SaaS.

The consistency is the real win, not the maintenance savings. Customers bounce between WhatsApp and email and it’s rough when the bot forgets everything because it’s actually two bots with different training. Voice is where it gets messy though, text answers sound robotic read aloud, so we still tweaked tone per channel even with one agent. And handoff matters more than expected, customers forgive the AI not knowing something, they don’t forgive re-explaining everything to a human after.

We went too deep into custom prompts early on, every edge case got its own tweak until nobody remembered why half existed, then one model update broke six things at once. What’s worked better is keeping core logic simple and pushing customization into config instead of prompt spaghetti, way less to babysit when models change.

Skipped the waitlist too. Best part wasn’t the users, it was finding out in week one which features people actually used vs. the ones we were sure would land. Waitlists make sense if you’re worried about getting overwhelmed, we were more worried about building the wrong thing. Would do it the same way again.
