I’d probably look at Chatbase if the budget is around $100. The multi-channel part is interesting because you don’t have to build completely separate experiences for every channel.

‎We’ve found that ticket reduction isn’t really about how much the AI can answer. It’s more about whether it can actually resolve the issue without making the customer repeat everything to a human agent.

For me, it’s actually a combination of both. Automation gets you interested in the technology, but consistency is what makes you keep using it. If the agent reliably handles the boring repetitive stuff without creating new problems, that’s when it starts becoming genuinely useful.

‎I think AI agents are raising expectations pretty quickly. Once you’ve used an agent that can take care of a task from start to finish, going back to clicking through five different menus feels unnecessarily slow.

‎I’d probably build one interface with multiple specialized agents underneath. The user gets one simple place to ask for help, while the system can route each request to the agent that actually understands that particular workflow.

I’d start with a problem first and only use AI where it actually makes the solution better. It’s tempting to start with “what can AI do?” but I think asking “what annoying problem keeps happening?” is a better starting point.

For me, the analytics side would be the most interesting. Updating instructions is useful, but being able to ask something like “what problems are customers having this week?” and get useful insights from the conversations could actually change how I manage the agent.

I think timing plays a bigger role than people admit. You can have a solid product and still struggle because you’re talking to the wrong audience or showing up at the wrong time. Then one random post, referral, or conversation suddenly brings in more users than everything you tried before.

I’d be less worried about how smart the AI is and more interested in whether customers actually get their problems solved faster. A bot giving a perfect sounding answer isn’t useful if it can’t take action or gets stuck when the issue goes beyond the basic stuff.

‎This is something I’ve wondered about too. Having one knowledge base and one set of workflows sounds much easier than maintaining separate systems, especially as the business grows. The real test for me would be what happens when the AI gets something wrong. If the handoff to a human is smooth and the context isn’t lost, that’s where the setup starts becoming really useful.

This is something I think a lot of teams underestimate. It’s easy to add one more workflow or custom prompt because it solves a problem today, then six months later you have a whole stack of things that need attention. I’d rather keep the core simple and only customize where there’s a clear reason for it.

I think it really depends on how ready the product is. If you’re still figuring out who the product is actually for, launching early makes more sense to me. But if you already have a clear audience and need some momentum around launch, a waitlist could be useful. The biggest thing is not letting the waitlist become a substitute for actually talking to users.

I’ve noticed the same thing. The Help Desk and Actions are what make it feel like more than just another chatbot to me. If the AI can actually take action and then hand things over to a human when needed, that’s a much more useful setup than just having a bot answer questions.

I think the biggest win is that AI gives small teams more breathing room rather than simply replacing people. If it can take care of the repetitive questions and still hand over the difficult ones with the right context, customers get faster help and the human team can focus on what actually needs them.

I don’t think live chat is going away completely. AI is great for handling the first interaction, answering common questions, and qualifying people quickly, but there are still moments where visitors want a real person. The interesting part is probably getting the handoff right instead of treating AI and humans as competing options.
