Will AI peak, fade into the background and human stuff become the luxury item??

Remember when computers were the luxury thing? Now they’re everywhere and basically invisible but nobody’s impressed by “I own a laptop” anymore.
I think AI is heading the same way. It gets so common, so good, so baked into everything that it stops being a “thing” at all. It just disappears into the background, like electricity or wifi. Nobody says “wow, AI” anymore, the same way nobody says “wow, computer.”
And when that happens, the rare thing won’t be AI-made stuff. It’ll be human-made stuff.
Human skill, human attention, a person who actually did the thing themselves : that becomes the flex. Not because AI can’t do it, but because AI *can*, and choosing the human version anyway is what makes it valuable.
AI won’t keep climbing forever like it feels like now. It’ll peak, then fade into invisibility. And humans doing human things will become the new premium.

I think you’re onto something. The interesting part is that the “human-made” premium probably won’t apply equally to everything. Nobody will care that a spreadsheet was made by a human. But with things like art, writing, music, handmade products, or even personal service, knowing a real person put their time into it could become part of the value. AI becoming invisible might actually make human effort more visible. The irony is that the better AI gets at producing things, the more valuable genuine human involvement could become.

I really like this perspective. I think AI becoming invisible is probably the real sign that it has succeeded. Once it becomes embedded in everyday tools, people won’t care that something is AI-powered; they’ll care about the outcome.

I can actually see this happening, especially with things like art, writing, and personal services where people value the human touch. When AI becomes normal, something made by a real person may feel more special simply because you know someone took the time to do it.

AI will not eliminate the value of human work; it will raise the premium on authentic human authorship. As AI makes polished content, designs, and services abundant and cheap, value will shift to what it cannot reliably provide: lived experience, conviction, distinctive taste, craftsmanship, accountability, and meaningful connection.

There’s something really interesting about this idea. I can definitely see human-made work becoming more valuable once AI-generated content is everywhere. Things like art, writing, and handmade work feel different when you know a real person put their time and personal touch into creating them.

I concur. As AI becomes more common and invisible, the real luxury may be human effort, creativity, and genuine connection. When machines can create almost anything instantly, knowing that a real person took the time to make something could make it feel far more meaningful and valuable.
