The predictably part really stands out to me. Businesses can plan around predictable processes much more easily than processes that depend on someone remembering to do something. That could end up being one of the more practical benefits of agents.

‎One thing I’m watching closely is how companies handle mistakes. With normal software, an error might be annoying. With an agent that can change data, send emails, issue refunds, or modify an account, the same mistake can have real consequences.

I think the answer depends on how different the jobs are. If support, sales, and onboarding need completely different context and permissions, specialized agents make more sense. Otherwise, one agent could keep things much simpler.

The biggest benefit for me would probably be saving time on the small changes. If I can tell it to update an instruction, check recent conversations, or look at a trend without digging through several menus, that adds up pretty quickly.

I’d focus on something where AI can actually take action, not just generate text. Reading an issue is useful, but reading it, deciding what needs to happen, and actually doing it is where I think the bigger opportunity is.

I’ve noticed referrals can be seriously underrated for early SaaS. One happy customer mentioning the product to a few people can do more than weeks of posting content. The hard part is obviously getting that first customer who actually likes the product enough to recommend it.

Honestly, I wouldn’t automatically choose one over the other. If I already had a solid Zendesk or Intercom setup, I’d need a pretty good reason to move. But for a new company starting from scratch, an AI native help desk definitely makes more sense to me if the workflows are built around AI from day one.

I think a lot of them get the AI everywhere approach wrong. Just because you can add AI to a feature doesn’t mean you should. If it takes more clicks or makes a simple workflow feel complicated, I’d honestly rather use the old way.

We’ve been running AI for the first conversation and keeping live chat as a backup. The AI converts better on simple product questions and demo bookings, while people still prefer a human for pricing or complex stuff. Overall volume is up and the leads feel more qualified. Haven’t fully replaced live chat yet.

We’ve been on Chatbase for most of the year. It actually resolves full requests instead of just answering questions, and the multi-channel and human handoff works well. Only real ongoing work is keeping the knowledge base updated. Would choose it again.

We added it because everyone expected it. Some users love it, most barely use it. Biggest surprise was how much ongoing work it takes to keep it from sounding dumb. Wouldn’t scrap it, but I’d start way smaller next time.
