If you could relaunch your SaaS today, what would you change?

I was talking with another founder recently, and something they said stuck with me:

“I wouldn’t rebuild the product. I’d rebuild the launch.”

It made me realize that hindsight changes more than just the roadmap.

You learn who your ideal customers actually are.

You find out which messages resonate and which ones fall flat.

You discover features that seemed essential but barely got used—and others that became unexpectedly important.

None of those lessons are obvious before real users start interacting with your product.

So here’s a hypothetical:

You get to relaunch your SaaS today.

The product is wiped clean, but you keep everything you’ve learned from building and growing it.

Would you target the same audience?

Would you change your pricing, onboarding, or positioning?

Would you spend less time coding and more time talking to customers?

Or would you make almost no changes because the original path was the right one?

I’m not looking for the biggest mistake or the biggest success, I’m interested in the one change that you believe would have had the greatest impact if you could do the launch all over again.

Things I’d change if I relaunch my SaaS today.

    1. I’d probably spend more time talking to customers before building. It’s easy to spend months polishing features that seem important from the inside, only to discover that customers care about a completely different problem.

    2. I’d also simplify the initial product and make the value obvious much earlier. Getting the positioning and target customer right from the start could save more time than any technical improvement.

I think doing either of this two would work for me and help me avoid making future mistakes.

Things I will most probably change if I relaunch my SaaS today:

    1. I will make onboarding much simpler, because even a good product can lose people if they don’t understand the value quickly.

    2. I will focus the launch around one strong use case instead of trying to show everything at once. I think proving one thing really well first would make it easier to build trust and grow from there.

It’s easy to assume that more features create more value, but real customers often reveal that one painful problem matters far more than ten useful features. I would also make the positioning much narrower at the beginning. Instead of trying to appeal to everyone who could use the product, I sure would focus on a specific customer with a specific problem and make the product exceptionally good at solving it.

I’d probably spend more time understanding the target customers before building too much. Having a clear idea of who the product is really for could make the messaging, pricing, and even the features much more focused from the beginning.
