Clay in 2026: Powerful Data Enrichment, But There’s A Learning Curve

Clay has become the go to name in GTM/RevOps circles this year, and after looking through real user feedback, here’s where I think it stands.

What it does well: Clay has access to a large amount of data providers with waterfall enrichment, AI powered research through Claygent that fills the gaps missed by structured database and native email sequencing that’s cut down the need for separate outbound tools.

Where it gets twisted: The learning curve is real, it takes a little time to actually get a hang of it, and most teams end up needing an exclusive RevOps expert just to build workflows. Credit consumption is cited as one of its frequent challenges, unpredictable enrichment and heavy data workflows can run well past the sticker price.

TL;DR: Strong fit for RevOps teams and outbound agencies that want control over enrichment logic. Smaller teams looking for something easy to set up, it’s a bit too much for them.

If there’s anyone who’s used Clay workflows in production, How long did it take your team to get comfortable with it?

The learning curve is definitely an important part of the Clay conversation. The flexibility is what makes it powerful, but it also means teams need to understand their data sources, enrichment logic, and credit usage before they can really get the most out of it.
