10xARR in 6 months. Then a 28.5M raise.

Naïve, a unified API and serverless operating stack for autonomous companies, closed a $28.5M series A on August 6, led by Nexus Venture Partners, with Y combinator, Zetta, and Liquid 2 joining in.
The pitch:
Infrastructure that let’s AU agents handle incorporation, financial management, cloud compute, and multi-agent orchestration, basically the operational backbone for companies that are run by AI, not just assisted by it.
The Eye-catching detail:
Their ARR grew 10x in six months.
This is a signal worth watching. We’ve spent the last few years talking about AI agents as employees. Naïve is betting on the next layer-up as founders, running the actual back office infrastructure of a company. If that thesis holds, “autonomous company” tooling could become its own SaaS category, the same way DevOps tooling did a decade ago.
Curious where people land on this: Is fully agent-run infrastructure a real near-term market, or still a few years out from being trustworthy at scale?.

The founder-as-role shift is the interesting part here, most agent tooling so far has been ‘give the AI a task,’ this is ‘give the AI a legal entity and a bank account.’ That’s a much bigger trust jump.

Exactly. The shift from AI that completes tasks to AI that operates autonomously within a company marks a fundamentally higher level of agency.

That shift is where the real frontier lies.

The infrastructure angle is actually what interests me most here. Once agents start doing real things instead of just answering questions, they need permissions, access to money and systems, identity, monitoring and some way to coordinate with other agents. Someone also needs to be able to see what an agent did and shut it down if it goes off track. That feels like a real infrastructure layer, not just another AI wrapper.

Exactly. Once agents can act, infrastructure for identity, permissions, financial controls, monitoring, and coordination becomes essential. The challenge is enabling speed and autonomy while keeping humans in control when things go wrong.

The companies that build that layer well will be the ones that last.

Exactly. I think the infrastructure layer is going to become one of the most important parts of the agentic AI stack. Once an agent can actually take actions, things like permissions, identity, audit logs, monitoring, and human override stop being optional features and become fundamental requirements.

    • Olorundare

      August 28, 2026 at 12:25 pm

Exactly. As AI agents move from answering questions to taking action, infrastructure for permissions, identity, auditing, monitoring, and human oversight will become essential. Companies that build this trust and control layer could power the next generation of autonomous businesses.

The companies that treat this as core infrastructure, not an afterthought, will lead the next wave.

That’s a wild jump actually. Going 10x on ARR in half a year is already rare, but turning that into a 28.5M raise so fast says investors saw real proof, not just hype. Would love to know what actually drove that growth, since numbers like that usually come down to nailing one channel hard rather than doing everything at once.

    • Olorundare

      August 28, 2026 at 12:27 pm

Exactly. The 10x ARR growth is impressive, but the more interesting question is what actually unlocked that acceleration. Usually, numbers like that come from finding one repeatable growth channel and executing on it relentlessly, rather than trying to scale everything at once.

Would be fascinating to see what that winning channel actually was.

10x ARR growth in six months is an impressive signal, but it doesn’t automatically prove the autonomous-company thesis yet. The bigger test will be retention and whether customers continue trusting agents as the workflows become more consequential. I expect the near-term model to be autonomous operations with human governance, rather than companies where AI has complete control. But if these systems can reliably execute infrastructure, finance, and back-office tasks with strong guardrails and audit trails, then this could absolutely become a major new SaaS category.

10x ARR growth is encouraging, but retention and customer trust will determine whether agents succeed in higher stakes workflows. In the near term, autonomous operations with human oversight are more likely than fully autonomous companies.

The pieces are there, but the durability is still being proven.

The 10x ARR growth in six months is definitely a strong signal. The interesting part is the shift from AI agents simply doing tasks to potentially running entire business operations. If reliability, security, and compliance can catch up, autonomous-company infrastructure could become a major new SaaS category.

The 10x ARR growth is impressive, but the bigger shift is AI moving from isolated productivity tasks to coordinating entire business operations. Autonomous company infrastructure can become the operating layer for modern businesses by managing workflows, enforcing permissions, protecting data, and meeting compliance requirements at scale creating a major new SaaS category.

    • MR-GIL

      August 29, 2026 at 10:28 pm

The growth signals interest, but trust and infrastructure will determine who actually leads it.

  • MR-GIL

    August 28, 2026 at 11:18 am

The infrastructure layer is what makes this interesting. Once agents take real actions, permissions, audit logs, monitoring, and human override become essential requirements, not optional features. The trust jump from task assistance to full operations is significant.

    • Olorundare

      August 28, 2026 at 12:37 pm

Exactly. The infrastructure layer may be the real moat. As AI agents take on financial, operational, and technical tasks, identity, permissions, auditability, monitoring, and human oversight become essential.

  • Olorundare

    August 28, 2026 at 12:18 pm

The key point isn’t just the 10x ARR growth, but what it signals about the direction of AI infrastructure. If agents are to operate businesses rather than merely assist employees, they’ll need reliable infrastructure for the operational layer. The near term opportunity is real, but trust, security, compliance, and human oversight will determine how quickly “autonomous companies” move from an exciting thesis to a scalable reality.

    • MR-GIL

      August 29, 2026 at 10:28 pm

The near-term opportunity is clear, but turning it into a durable reality means getting security, compliance, and oversight right from the start.

the primary friction point for automatous companies isn’t the LLM’s intelligence anymore , its the banking legal and multi agent infrastructure required to let software safely navigate the physical and regulatory world on its own

      August 29, 2026 at 10:29 pm

autonomous entities means building the rails for the real world, not just better reasoning.

The infrastructure side is what makes this really interesting, once AI agents can actually run parts of a business, security, permissions, and human oversight become just as important as the AI itself, i think that’s where the real challenge will be.
