September 24, 2026 at 4:14 pmI think this is one of those areas where AI personalization sounds great in theory, but can become a problem when businesses take it too far. When recommendations are actually useful,
it can save customers a lot of time and make the shopping experience feel much smoother. But when every click, search, or purchase seems to immediately influence what you see next, it can start feeling a little uncomfortable. There’s also the issue of customers being shown too much of the same type of product because the system assumes they only want what they’ve bought or searched for before. That can limit discovery and make the shopping experience feel repetitive.
For me, the key is balance.
