I feel like the biggest issue is not customization itself, but how tightly everything gets connected to it. Custom prompts and workflows can be useful early on, but if every product change requires updating five different AI rules, maintenance becomes a problem. Keeping the core logic simple and making custom parts modular seems like a better balance. Versioning prompts and testing them when models or product features change can also prevent small updates from creating bigger problems.
