The fact that HappyRobot started in freight and logistics but is now expanding into energy, insurance, telecom, and airlines tells me that investors are betting on something bigger than just one industry solution. They are betting on a platform that can actually execute work across different sectors instead of just sitting on top of existing software and offering suggestions. That is a meaningful difference. A tool that can take action and complete tasks is far more valuable than one that just tells you what to do.
I do think agent first software is a real platform shift and not just hype. The reason is simple. Businesses are tired of buying software that still requires a human to do the actual work. They want systems that can handle entire workflows from start to finish. The companies that figure out how to build agents that are both deep enough to understand specific industries and flexible enough to move across them are going to be the ones that win. That is a hard balance to strike but the payoff is enormous.
