Most AI agents being added to SaaS products are just another layer on top of existing workflows. That creates a new learning curve without actually removing work. The real test is whether the agent can take action, understand context, and complete tasks without making users walk through the same steps manually. The ones that actually remove work will stand out. The rest will feel like a checkbox feature. A hybrid approach makes the most sense. AI handles ambiguity and intent, workflows handle predictable and high risk actions, and humans handle exceptions. That balance is more practical than giving one autonomous model control over everything.
