I think the hidden cost is often overlooked because businesses focus heavily on automation rates and immediate savings. If the AI creates repeat contacts, frustrates customers, or sends more difficult cases to human agents, the apparent savings can disappear quickly. Cost per successful resolution seems like a much better way to judge whether AI support is actually delivering value.
