This is a great point. I think the biggest shift is that SaaS alternatives should be evaluated on outcomes, not just features or subscription price. A cheaper tool that adds complexity isn’t really cheaper. Likewise, another AI feature doesn’t create much value unless it actually reduces manual work or improves the customer experience. For me, automation, total cost of ownership, ease of implementation, and how well the product fits the existing workflow are becoming much more important than feature count. The best alternative is the one that makes the business simpler and more productive.
